Extractions:
Teeth which cannot
be saved or treated will need to be removed. Our experienced oral
surgeon will make sure you have a comfortable and painless extraction.
For those to anxious or nervous to have it done chair side extraction
can be done under general sedation.
Wisdom
teeth which are impacted or blocked are also extracted. These are minor
surgeries and are also done chair side. These will require 2-3 stitches
which will have to remain in for a week
Procedure:
After
making sure the patient is medically fit for extraction a local
anesthesia is administered.
The gum is
separated away from the tooth to be removed and with the help of special
instruments called elevators the tooth is loosened and removed.
In case of
blocked molars the blocking bone or gum will have to be removed before
loosening and then tooth loosened and then removed.
Dissolvable sutures are then placed.
Post
surgical instructions will be given which are to be carefully followed.
Minor Surgeries
Minor surgeries
such as removal of small cysts, relieving of frenum, and removal of
salivary stones are also done in chair or under general anaesthesia as
the patient would prefer. Biopsies are also
done. Gum surgeries are
also carried out to solve all kinds of periodontal problems.
